Welcome to The Umbrella Café CIC, Whitstable

Our community cafe, social kitchen and project spaces all exist for the same purpose; to reduce social isolation, food poverty and food waste in our local area. We run not for profit and are accountable to our community. Four days a week we throw open our doors to welcome all in for lunches, home-made cakes and drinks. We have a gorgeous community garden, a cosy Cafe space and both are fully accessible. We welcome friendly dogs on leads. Behind the scenes we are funded to help us deliver our social impact by The National Lottery and Kent Community Foundation. We’re looking forward to seeing you soon. Come and grab a coffee and see what we have to offer.

We have been really busy the last few days since our renovation and had so much lovely feedback from you all! We have worked really hard, doing all the work ourselves and on a tiny budget- we still have lots of finishing touches to make it home but your support makes all the evenings painting, sawing, sanding and drilling worth it!

These blueberry and lemon cakes are so soft and light, like biting into a zesty cloud - and with two of your 10 a day it’s the healthy start to your weekend you need. Our garden is the perfect spot for some sweet sustenance or a relaxed brunch in the shade. The @whitstableumbrellacentre have a bouncy castle in the hall and jazz in the garden so spend some time in the calm after a scorcher of a week.
